Abstract

Abstract

Qualitative inquiry seeks novel ways of looking at research, methodology, and data. The drive comes from the belief that things are complex, so no single way of knowing or answering is sufficient. In the conventional qualitative perspective, writing is entangled with data that qualitative inquirers problematize as outside, objectified, and oversimplified approaches in qualitative research. Thus, qualitative inquirers present plural ways of knowing to respond to their dissatisfaction with the existing qualitative research methodology and data explosion. Rooted in assemblage and immanence, I want to propose “explosion” as a thinking and writing approach. Through a series of entanglements in explosions, I present the narratives on developing explosions as a concept of qualitative inquiry. Through this paper, I invite qualitative researchers to look through epochs in their lived experiences to be the insiders of their studies.
