Abstract

In this autobiographical action study, I use the currere method to predict my future self as a teacher and adjust traits I feel will hinder my success as a teacher. I reflect on my past and present through personal journal entries, conversations with friends and family, and analytic memos, and then I analyze and synthesize the personality trends I find. I examine indelible educational moments, present-day habits, and current reading and learning interests to determine potential trouble spots in my teacher identity. With this self-awareness, I am more able to take steps to adjust myself and grow closer to the teacher I aim to be.
