Abstract

This article explores the parallels and differences of fear, both current and past,  that comes from looming possibilities of violence. The author remembers her own experiences and fear growing up during the cold war with atomic weaponry pushing into our collective and individual psyche, and wonders about the current effects upon students of potential gun violence in schools.
