Abstract

The 2020 Covid 19 pandemic and subsequent lockdowns have forcibly occasioned the conditions for collective contemplation. However, throughout this time, we have seen the continued flourishing of divisiveness, populism, and the devaluation of knowledge.  In this article I seek to explore the roles of anxiety and intimacy in our pandemic experience, drawing upon the works of Pinar and Morton along with my personal currere reflections. I reflect on the potential fecundity of this time of forced contemplation and ask – what may the anxiety and intimacy of this pandemic-time birth?
